Practice | Context

For this project, I undertook Cornelia Parker’s work for inspiration. After viewing her work in a gallery, I was left wondering how and what the purpose was behind her work. A specific piece that I took into consideration that had similarities to my work of focusing on pavement cracks, made me explore the ways I can create different textures using unusual materials such as plasticine. During my time in MMU, I have gained curiosity towards large scale pieces as it is appreciated more and it has more interest when work is on a larger scale. After exploring Parker’s and other similar artists large work, I can possibly see my work being held in galleries or in homes.
